U15 Youth League Week 2: Pune FC & PIFA Sports Post Big Wins

Six games were played in Week 2 of the Hero Under-15 Youth League matches, and we’re here to give you a glimpse of what went on. In the Kolkata-Jamshedpur Zone (Group A), Tata Football Academy U15 came face-to-face with Mohun Bagan AC U15 at 2 pm on Saturday at JRD Sports Complex. While the first half ended goalless, three quick goals in the 50^th, 53^rd and 71^st minutes gave Mohun Bagan a comfortable 3-0 victory over TFA. The SAI Ground in Kolkata witnessed a mighty clash on Sunday afternoon, with East Bengal FC U15 taking the lead with a quick 11^th minute goal by Kousik Santra. However, SAI-East U15 equalised in the beginning of the second half, when Abhijit Mondal netted the ball in the 52^nd minute. The game would end in a 1-1 draw. The match between Mohammedan SC U15 and United SC U15 was goalless until the 66^th minute when a goal from Surajuddin Munshi secured a 1-0 victory for Mohammedan SC U15.

Under 15 Youth League – Week 2 Results

The Maharashtra Zone (Group B) matches kicked-off this weekend to a spectacular start. On Saturday evening Mumbai FC U15 met Kenkre FC U15 at Cooperage Ground where goals by Kamran Ansari and Shreyas Sail in the 64^th and 82^nd minute respectively gave Mumbai FC a 2-0 win. Sunday afternoon saw Pune FC U15 secure a 7-0 win over DSK Shivajians FC U15 at the Pune FC Training Pitches in Mamurdi. Pune FC were strong right from the beginning, scoring their first two goals in the 11^th and then 12^th minute. Ishan Dey claimed the first hat-trick of the U15 Youth League scoring 3 of the 7 goals, giving the team a great start to their season. Later on Sunday evening, PIFA Sports U15 followed up the goal-fest in Pune with a show of their own by handing debutants Steadfast Academy U15 a heavy 8-1 defeat at Cooperage where Sahil More starred with a brace.

It’s still early days in the U15 Youth League and some teams have certainly showed their class, but there’s a lot of football to be played and we can’t wait to see what next weekend has in store for us! Take a look at the standings in Groups A & B below:
