Once Shillong Lajong FC U15 beat Gauhati Town Club U15 last Friday, we thought we were done with the U15 Youth League for a while, but a new Zone A started their matches on Sunday, and we’ve had three action-packed days of football since! Here’s a quick look at the scores of matches played this last week:

I League U15 Group A Results Week 1

Sunday’s first match was between Conscient Football U15 and Minerva Academy FC U15. While both teams played well, the match ended in a goalless draw. Later, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) U15 played Youngsters FC U15. The game was off to an interesting start with a yellow card for BBFS’s Mehul Varma in the 35th minute. Two minutes later, his teammate Aishwary Pundeer netted the ball, giving BBFS a one-goal advantage. Two more yellow cards were shown during the match. BBFS’s Yash was shown a card in the 89th minute, while Youngsters FC’s Parneet Singh was booked in the 90th minute, just before the final whistle. No more goals were scored and the match ended 1-0 in favour of BBFS U15.

Sunday’s third match was definitely the most interesting one of the day, played between Lonestar Kashmir FC U15 and Indian Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) U15. The latter took the lead in the 3rd minute when Nischay Adhikari netted the ball. With two more goals in the 68th and 73rd minute, he is the first player in the group to score a hat-trick. In the 84th minute, Lonestar’s Hyder Hussain was shown a red card, while IYSA’s Himanshu Rai was shown a yellow, and Prakash Kumar was given a red. Both teams ended the match with only 10 players, but a goal each by Abhishek, Rishab Giri, and Himanshu Rai gave IYSA U15 a comfortable 6-0 victory over Lonestar Kashmir.

On Tuesday morning, Sudeva FC U15 started their run on the right foot, beating Conscient Football U15 1-0. Later that day, Minerva Academy FC U15 played BBFS U15. While the score was 0-0 at half time, a brace each by Shubham Sarangi and Manvir Singh ended the match 4-0 in favour of Minerva Academy FC. The last match of the day was between Youngsters FC U15 and Lonestar Kashmir FC U15. The game got quite interesting in the 8th minute, when Lonestar’s Ahyaan Aijaz Sheikh was booked and shown a yellow. Just before the half-time whistle, Youngsters FC’s Yuvraj Kalia was also shown a yellow. Three more yellows were shown in the second half, but sadly, there were no goals scored, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Quick to fight back, Sudeva equalised two minutes later, and went on to score again in the 42nd minute, ending the first half with a 1-goal lead. Another goal in the second half for Sudeva FC ended the game 3-1 in their favour. Later, Conscient Football U15 played BBFS U15. Both teams played well, and their defences remained impenetrable as the match ended in a goalless stalemate.

Last evening, Minerva Academy FC U15 played Youngsters FC U15. Minerva Academy grabbed the lead early on, scoring 3 goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. Scoring another 9 goals in the second half, Minerva Academy won the match 12-0.
