India U16 beat Bahrain U16: 5-0
(Gaston 15, Aman 19, 47, Boris 27, Suresh 75)
India’s Under-16 team kicked off their qualifying campaign for the 2016 AFC Under-16 Championships with a huge 5-0 win over the Bahrain Under-16 team. Having arrived in Iran after a successful Germany exposure trip spanning over two months, the Indian colts started strongly on a sunny afternoon at the Tabriz Yadegar-E-Emam Stadium in Iran.
The Indians’ movement on and off the ball had the opposition in a tizzy with the first half yielding 3 goals without a response. The young Blue Tigers then added a couple more goals in the second half as Nicolai Adam’s side turned the screws.
While India have already qualified for the 2016 AFC Under-16 Championships by virtue of being hosts for the tournament, the qualifying campaign gives the youngsters tremendous opportunities to play tough, competitive matches against fellow Asian teams.
